Hi. I'm Robina Ritchie-Barker. And my story is a testament to the transformative power of TrackStage. After selling my successful business, I turned my attention to my passion for composing instrumental piano music and was stoked to discover the lucrative world of sync music licensing.
I did my homework and eagerly worked to learn the business, only to find myself overwhelmed by the details, complexities, record-keeping requirements, and myriad processes that come with being a professional sync musician.
And I was not alone.
I began to see that my struggles with organizing tracks, keywords, registrations, rights administration, metadata management and pitching professionally in this high-stakes business mirrored the challenges faced by other sync artists. In particular, four aspiring musicians I knew - Rod, Janet, Brigitte, and Ian – each battled their own significant hurdles in adjusting to meet the demands of sync music.
Rod was new to sync and - like me - was overwhelmed with getting organized, keeping accurate and complete records, staying on top of his songwriting progress, and keeping track of his industry pitches.
Janet was struggling to keep all the metadata in her music files up-to-date and all her contracts in place and accessible. She knew she needed a more professional solution.
Brigitte, already making inroads in sync licensing, had been using a lot of individual tools, websites, and software and found the decentralized and repetitive workflow draining.
Ian was ahead of the game and had already organized his catalog in massive spreadsheets, but found them lacking and not particularly user-friendly. He had grown frustrated having to duplicate his efforts across so many different tools to keep his metadata consistent. He wanted his time back.
The turning point for all four musicians came when my software-developer husband Scott and I put our heads together and launched TrackStage, the most comprehensive sync-focused business platform on the market. TrackStage became their one-stop solution – from organizing tracks and managing metadata to mastering the art of music pitching and production.
Rod became an organized and confident professional who avoided making newcomer missteps by double-checking his pitches using TrackStage's companion application, the TrackView Metadata Viewer.
Brigitte immediately reduced her dependence on numerous tools as she honed a seamless workflow during her free TrackStage Trial.
Janet grew confidence using our one-stop solution for all her project management challenges by diving into our 4-week live webinar series, TrackStage University .
Janet now pitches her music with confidence and consistency, knowing that all her metadata is correct and all her contracts are just a click away.
And Ian was able to devote more time to his music as his admin workflow became a streamlined, effortless process using TrackStage's Pitch-Ready Checklist
Each musician experienced a remarkable transformation.
Not only were their sync catalogs well-organized, complete, and easy to work with, but their workflow and processes put them in the position to be responsive, strategic, and professional, greatly increasing their opportunities for success in the competitive world of sync licensing.
